Tamil Nadu Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Selection Committee, has extended the Round 2 counselling schedule for MBBS and BDS admissions for the 2026-27 academic session.
According to Notification No. 27/SCS1(1)/2026, dated September 18, 2026, the extension has been issued based on representations received from candidates and in view of the All India Quota UG counselling schedule published by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

Candidates who have received a Round 2 seat allotment must complete the required admission and reporting formalities within the extended deadline.
Why Has Tamil Nadu Round 2 Been Extended?
The Selection Committee stated that the Round 2 counselling schedule has been extended based on representations received from candidates and considering the MCC All India Quota UG counselling schedule.
The official Tamil Nadu counselling website is also currently listing Round 2 MBBS/BDS allotment orders and an extension notice relating to the joining date and reporting time.
Round 2 Seat Allotment Already Released
The Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Committee released the Round 2 provisional allotment results for MBBS and BDS on September 15, 2026. The allotment included seats under government quota, management quota and the 7.5% reservation for Tamil Nadu government school students.
What Should Candidates Do Now?
Candidates allotted a seat in Tamil Nadu NEET UG Counselling Round 2 should:
- Download their allotment order before September 19, 2026, 12:00 Noon.
- Complete the required admission formalities at the allotted institution.
- Report to the allotted college on or before September 19, 2026, 5:00 PM.
- Carry the required original documents and other admission-related documents.
- Follow the instructions mentioned in the allotment order.
Candidates should not wait until the last moment to complete reporting formalities, as the notification specifies September 19, 2026, at 5:00 PM as the final reporting deadline.
