Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, has issued a public notice for NEET UG 2026 candidates who joined the provisionally allotted seats in Round 1 of Punjab state counselling and now wish to surrender or resign from their allotted MBBS/BDS seat.
According to the notice dated September 9, 2026, eligible candidates can surrender their allotted seats up to September 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM without forfeiting the security deposit.

How to Surrender the Allotted Seat?
Candidates who wish to surrender their provisionally allotted Round-1 MBBS/BDS seat must submit an application for surrender to the Principal of the concerned college.
After receiving the application, the concerned college will process the surrender through the online portal, after which the vacancy for the surrendered seat will be updated automatically.
BFUHS has specifically clarified that if a candidate fails to surrender the allotted seat through the concerned college within the prescribed date and time, the candidate will be treated as having joined the allotted seat.
Security Deposit to Be Forfeited After Deadline
The university has warned candidates to strictly follow the deadline. After September 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM, if a candidate wishes to resign or surrender the allotted seat, the applicable security deposit forfeiture rules and regulations for Round-II of online counselling will apply.
Therefore, candidates who intend to leave their Round-1 allotted seat should complete the surrender process through their respective college before the deadline.
Direct Applications to BFUHS Will Not Be Accepted
BFUHS has also clarified that applications or requests for surrender submitted directly to the University will not be considered under any circumstances.
Candidates must submit their surrender application to the Principal of the concerned medical or dental college. Applications submitted to the college after the stipulated deadline will also not be accepted.
