Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell has released the CAP Round 3 schedule for MBBS and BDS admissions for the academic year 2026-27. The schedule has been issued through Notice No. 18 dated September 22, 2026, following the completion of CAP Round 2 for MBBS/BDS courses.
According to the notice, the online registration, fee payment and document upload process for CAP Round 3 will be conducted from September 22 to September 26, 2026. Candidates will then be required to complete document verification, check the combined merit list, submit grievances if required, and fill their preferences for CAP Round 3.
Maharashtra State CET Cell has also clarified that the schedule is subject to directions from authorities including MCC, AACCC, the Central Government, the State Government and the Hon’ble Court. The official CET Cell continues to publish NEET UG 2026 admission notices through its medical admission portal.

Maharashtra NEET UG CAP Round 3 Registration
Candidates who wish to participate in CAP Round 3 for MBBS/BDS must complete the registration process within the notified timeline.
The online registration window will remain open from September 22 to September 26, 2026, up to 6:00 PM. Candidates who are required to pay the registration fee must complete the payment by 8:00 PM on September 26.
Candidates must also upload the required coloured scanned copies of original documents by 11:00 PM on September 26, 2026.
The notice states that candidates who fail to upload the required documents within the stipulated period will not be considered for admission. The required documents must be uploaded through the candidate login as prescribed.
Document Verification for Newly Registered Candidates
Document verification for newly registered candidates will be conducted through the online mode from September 22 to September 28, 2026.
Candidates should ensure that the information entered in the application form is correct and that all required documents have been uploaded properly.
Maharashtra NEET UG 2026 Merit List
The State CET Cell will publish the Combined Registered Candidate List and Combined Provisional Merit List on September 29, 2026. Candidates will subsequently get an opportunity to raise grievances.
Grievance Submission
The grievance window will remain open from September 30, 2026 to October 1, 2026, up to 11:59 PM. Candidates who identify an error or discrepancy should submit the required supporting documents along with their grievance within the prescribed period.
The notice specifically states that no changes will be entertained without supporting documents. The Combined Final Merit List for registered MBBS/BDS candidates will be published on October 5, 2026.
Maharashtra NEET UG CAP Round 3 Seat Matrix
The CAP Round 3 Seat Matrix will be published on October 6, 2026. The seat matrix will provide candidates with information about the seats available for the respective CAP round. Candidates should check the available seats before submitting their preferences.
CAP Round 3 Choice Filling
Online preference filling for CAP Round 3 will be conducted from October 7 to October 9, 2026, up to 11:59 PM. Candidates participating in CAP Round 3 must submit fresh choices/preferences for this round.
The CET Cell has clearly stated that the choices filled during CAP Round 2 will be treated as null and void. Therefore, candidates participating in CAP Round 3 must submit fresh preferences. Candidates should carefully arrange their college and course preferences before submitting the preference form.
Maharashtra NEET UG CAP Round 3 Result
The CAP Round 3 Selection List will be declared on October 11, 2026. Candidates who receive an allotment in CAP Round 3 will have to report to the allotted institution within the prescribed joining period.
Physical Joining
The physical joining period is October 11 to October 14, 2026, up to 5:30 PM. Candidates must complete the admission process with their original documents and requisite admission fees through the prescribed mode.
Important Instructions for CAP Round 3
The Maharashtra CET Cell has issued several important instructions for candidates:
- Candidates who have already registered and are holding a seat, or were not allotted a seat in CAP 1 and CAP 2, can register again.
- Candidates whose admission was cancelled or who were not allotted a seat in MBBS-BDS CAP Round 2 can use the Unlock Application and Submit Form option and make payment to participate in CAP Round 3.
- CAP Round 2 choices will become null and void for candidates participating in CAP Round 3.
- Candidates must submit fresh choices/preferences for CAP Round 3.
- Candidates must complete registration and upload all required original scanned documents within the stipulated schedule.
- Candidates who have already joined a seat through AIQ Round 3 will not be considered for Maharashtra State CAP Round 3 and subsequent State counselling rounds.
- Joining the seat allotted in CAP Round 3 is mandatory for candidates who accept the allotment.
- Candidates allotted a seat in CAP Round 3 will not be considered for subsequent rounds irrespective of whether they join the allotted college or do not join.
- Candidates must upload the required documents and ensure that all information submitted in the application form is complete and correct.
- Failure to upload the required documents within the prescribed period can result in non-granting of the claim or cancellation of the application.
- Candidates should check their eligibility for the MBBS/BDS courses before completing registration.
Reservation and Category Certificate Instructions
Candidates claiming reservation must have claimed the respective category in the application form. The notice also provides specific instructions concerning PWD, EWS and other reserved categories.
PWD candidates were required to claim the quota at the time of NEET UG 2026 and submit a valid PWD eligibility certificate issued by an authorised medical board recognised by MCC. Candidates who want to remove a previously made PWD claim must follow the procedure prescribed by the CET Cell.
Candidates claiming EWS must submit an EWS certificate valid for Academic Year 2026-27 in the Maharashtra State Government format. The notice states that the Central Government format will not be considered valid. Candidates belonging to reservation categories must claim the category in the application form before submitting it.
Caste Validity and Non-Creamy Layer Certificates
Candidates claiming reservation should ensure that the required documents are available at the time of registration, including:
- Caste Certificate
- Caste Validity Certificate
- Non-Creamy Layer Certificate, wherever applicable
The notice also refers to the applicable time limits for submission of Caste Validity Certificates for different reserved categories. Candidates should follow the specific requirements mentioned in the official information brochure and the latest CET Cell instructions.
NRI Candidates
The CET Cell has instructed NRI candidates to register on the Foreign Candidate Registration Portal before September 25, 2026, for verification of eligibility.
The notice further states that NRI candidates are eligible only for the 15% Institutional Quota, subject to the applicable rules.
Maharashtra NEET UG Counselling 2026: What Candidates Should Do Now?
Candidates planning to participate in CAP Round 3 should:
- Complete online registration by September 26, 2026, 6:00 PM.
- Pay the applicable registration fee by 8:00 PM on September 26.
- Upload the required documents by 11:00 PM on September 26.
- Complete online document verification within the notified period.
- Check the provisional merit list after its publication.
- Submit a grievance with supporting documents if any correction is required.
- Check the CAP Round 3 seat matrix on October 6.
- Fill fresh preferences between October 7 and October 9.
- Check the CAP Round 3 selection list on October 11.
- If allotted a seat, complete physical joining with original documents and fees by October 14, 5:30 PM.
