BFUHS Releases Punjab NEET Draft Schedule for Round 2 Counselling

Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot has released the draft schedule for the second round of online counselling for MBBS/BDS courses under NEET UG 2026. The notice, dated September 3, 2026, outlines the complete timeline from fresh registration and willingness submission to seat allotment, objections, fee payment and reporting.

BFUHS is the admission authority conducting Punjab’s state-level undergraduate medical and dental counselling process. Its official admission portal provides a dedicated section for MBBS/BDS admissions.

Fresh Candidates Must Register for Round 2

Candidates who are new applicants will be required to submit a fresh application/registration during the notified period from September 5 to September 7, 2026.

However, the notice clarifies that already registered candidates do not need to register again. Such candidates must follow the instructions for submitting their willingness to participate in Round 2.

Both fresh registration and willingness submission are scheduled during the same window:

September 5, 2026, at 9:00 AM to September 7, 2026, up to 5:00 PM.

Willingness Is Mandatory for Participation

Candidates interested in participating in the second round must submit their willingness along with the prescribed security amount, as applicable.

The notice provides different security deposit requirements depending on the type of colleges selected.

Candidates should carefully select the type of colleges for which they wish to submit willingness because the applicable security amount depends on their selection.

Provisional Merit List on September 8

BFUHS will display the provisional merit list for Round 2 on September 8, 2026.

Candidates will then have an opportunity to raise objections against the provisional merit list. The last date for submission of objections is September 9, 2026, up to 3:00 PM.

If changes are required after consideration of objections, the revised provisional merit list will be displayed on September 9, 2026.

Choice Filling From September 8 to 10

The online choice-filling process will run from September 8 to September 10, 2026, up to 5:00 PM.

Candidates will be able to submit their preferences for:

  • Course
  • College
  • Quota
  • Category

Candidates are advised to fill their choices carefully and in accordance with their preferred order because seat allotment will be processed on the basis of merit, choices/preferences and applicable counselling rules.

Provisional Seat Allotment on September 12

BFUHS will process the Round 2 seat allotment on September 11 and 12, 2026.

The provisional seat allotment result is scheduled to be displayed on September 12, 2026.

Candidates will subsequently have an opportunity to submit objections against the provisional allotment. Such objections must be submitted by September 14, 2026, up to 3:00 PM.

If there is any change after consideration of objections, the revised provisional seat allotment result will be displayed on September 15, 2026.

Fee Payment and Reporting From September 16

Candidates who receive seats in Round 2 will have to complete the balance fee payment and reporting/joining process from September 16 to September 18, 2026, up to 5:00 PM.

The notice states that candidates should complete payment of the balance fee and report to the allotted college within the prescribed period. Candidates should carefully follow the instructions issued by the University and the respective college.

Sports Category Candidates Get Special Provision

BFUHS has also included specific instructions for candidates applying under the Sports Category.

Candidates who had already applied under the Sports Category but had not submitted the required hard copy of their online application form along with the Sports Department-issued certificate and other supporting documents will be permitted to submit the required documents only on September 7, 2026.

The documents are to be submitted personally at the Admission Branch, BFUHS, Faridkot.

The notice further states that candidates who had applied under the Sports Category but failed to submit the required hard copy and supporting documents by the prescribed date will not be considered eligible for the Sports Category Merit.

Eligibility for Round 2 Seat Allotment

The draft schedule identifies the following groups of candidates as eligible for Round 2 allotment:

Group I: Registered candidates who did not receive any seat allotment in Round 1.

Group II: Candidates who secured a seat in Round 1 but were not interested in continuing with the allotted seat, subject to the applicable conditions. Candidates who reported at their allotted institution and submitted willingness for Round 2 upgradation are also covered, subject to seat availability and category rules.

Group III: Candidates who reported at their allotted institution during Round 1 and submitted willingness for second-round upgradation.

Group IV: Candidates who were allotted a seat during Round 1 but did not join.

Group V: Candidates who resigned from their Round 1 allotted seat online within the prescribed time.

Candidates Not Eligible for Round 2

The notice also identifies candidates who will not be eligible for Round 2 seat allotment.

These include candidates who:

  • Have become ineligible due to inadequate documents as per the applicable eligibility criteria.
  • Have not reported/joined the seat allotted in Round 1 or Round 2, as applicable.

The University has also specified conditions regarding security deposits and willingness submission for candidates participating in the second round.

Important Rules Regarding Round 2 Participation

Candidates who submit willingness for Round 2 will have to comply with the applicable counselling rules and deposit the required security amount.

Candidates who are already allotted a seat in the first round and submit willingness for participation in Round 2 will be required to follow the prescribed conditions relating to the existing seat.

The notice also states that submission of consent/willingness is mandatory for participation in the second round.

Candidates who are allotted a seat in Round 2 but subsequently do not report/join may face consequences relating to the security deposit, as specified in the counselling rules.

Candidates who participate in subsequent rounds should also carefully review the rules concerning resignation, forfeiture of security deposit and eligibility for further counselling.

Choice Locking and Upgradation Rules

Candidates are required to submit fresh choices/preferences for Round 2. The notice states that choices will be automatically locked after the last date and time.

Candidates should therefore ensure that their choices are correctly entered before the deadline.

The notice further advises candidates that changes in choices cannot be made after the prescribed deadline and that candidates should regularly check the BFUHS website for updates.
