Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has released the schedule for CAP Round 2 counselling for MBBS and BDS (Group A) courses for the 2026–27 academic year. The notice, dated 05 September 2026, has been issued after completion of CAP Round 1 and in view of the counselling schedule prescribed by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
The second round will be conducted to fill the remaining vacant seats after CAP Round 1. Candidates participating in the process should carefully follow the choice-filling, selection-list and physical joining deadlines.

Choice Filling to Begin on September 8
Candidates will be able to submit their online choice/preference forms from 08 September to 10 September 2026, with the process closing at 11:59 PM on September 10.
Candidates should carefully arrange their preferred MBBS and BDS colleges before submitting their choices, as the preferences will be used for the Round 2 selection process.
The Maharashtra CET Cell has also advised candidates to regularly check the official website for notifications, updates and further instructions. The official Directorate of Medical Education and Research Maharashtra website lists the NEET UG 2026 MBBS/BDS admission notifications and seat-matrix updates.
CAP Round 2 Selection List on September 12
The CAP Round 2 Selection List will be published on 12 September 2026.
Candidates allotted an MBBS or BDS seat should carefully check the selection list and complete the admission formalities within the prescribed joining period.
Physical Joining from September 13
Candidates allotted seats in CAP Round 2 will have to complete physical joining at the allotted college from 13 September to 18 September 2026.
The notice specifically states that 14 September 2026 is excluded from the physical joining period.
Candidates must report to the allotted college with:
- Original documents
- Required certificates
- Requisite admission fees
- Other documents prescribed by the counselling authority/college
The Maharashtra CAP process requires candidates allotted seats to physically join their respective colleges within the specified period.
Academic Session to Commence on September 15
According to the Round 2 notification, the academic session for MBBS/BDS courses is scheduled to commence from 15 September 2026.
However, candidates should continue to follow the instructions issued by the Maharashtra CET Cell and their allotted institution regarding admission and joining formalities.
