- FLOAT – Candidate accepts the allotted seat but wishes to participate for upgradation in subsequent rounds.
- REJECT – Candidate does not wish to proceed with the allotted seat.
Candidates who are allotted seats and choose FREEZE must physically report to the allotted institution with their original documents.
Candidates choosing FLOAT can provide their willingness for further upgradation online. Such candidates do not need to physically report to the allotted college at this stage, as per the SOP, and can download the provisional admission letter after successful online verification.

The notification also specifies separate procedures for candidates wishing to surrender or resign from their Round 2 seats.
For Freeze candidates, physical reporting at the allotted institute and submission of the prescribed resignation form within the stipulated period is required.
For Float candidates, an online seat-surrender request can be submitted through the counselling portal within the prescribed timeline.
Importantly, once a seat is surrendered or resigned from, the candidate will have no claim over that particular seat. For a Float candidate, the notification also states that the security deposit will be forfeited upon surrender/resignation.
