Office of the Commissioner, Medical Education, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh has released the tentative time schedule for the Second Round of MP State Combined NEET UG Counselling 2026 for admission to MBBS and BDS courses.
As per the notice dated September 3, 2026, the second-round counselling process will begin with online registration and editing of applications from September 5, 2026. Candidates will subsequently be required to fill and lock their choices, after which the second-round seat allotment result will be announced on September 11, 2026.

Registration and Application Editing From September 5
Fresh candidates can register for the second round from September 5 to September 6, 2026, up to 11:59 PM.
The same window will also be available for editing applications submitted by already registered candidates, except for candidates who were admitted through the first-round counselling process, as specified in the notice.
Candidates should ensure that all details in their applications are correct before proceeding to the next stage.
Vacancy Position to Be Published on September 7
The physical and virtual vacancy position for the second round will be published on September 7, 2026.
On the same day, the authority will also publish the revised merit list and list of candidates eligible for Round 2.
Candidates should check the revised merit list carefully before filling their choices.
Choice Filling and Locking From September 7
Fresh choice filling and choice locking for Round 2 will be conducted from September 7 to September 9, 2026, up to 11:59 PM.
The notice states that choice filling is compulsory for candidates who wish to participate in the second round, including candidates who were allotted a seat in Round 1 and had opted for upgradation.
Candidates should fill their preferred medical and dental colleges carefully and arrange their choices according to their admission preferences.
Choice Locking Is Important
Candidates should ensure that their choices are locked within the prescribed deadline. The choice-filling window will close at 11:59 PM on September 9, 2026.
MP NEET UG Round 2 Allotment Result on September 11
The Second Round Seat Allotment Result is scheduled to be released on September 11, 2026.
Candidates allotted a seat will then have to report to their respective Medical/Dental College for document verification and completion of admission formalities.
Reporting and Admission From September 12 to 18
Candidates allotted seats in Round 2 will be required to report in person at the allotted medical or dental college for document verification and admission.
The reporting window is:
September 12 to September 18, 2026, up to 6:00 PM.
Candidates should carry all required original documents and complete the admission process within the stipulated period.
Upgradation Option for Mop-Up Round
Candidates admitted through the second round will also have the option to participate in upgradation for the Mop-Up Round.
The willingness for upgradation can be exercised from September 12 to September 18, 2026, up to 11:59 PM.
The notice specifically states that exercising the upgradation option is mandatory for candidates who want to participate in the subsequent upgradation process.
Candidates who have opted for upgradation in the second round but do not receive an upgraded seat in the Mop-Up Round will continue with their Round 2 admission, subject to the applicable rules.
Online Resignation/Cancellation Window
Candidates who wish to resign or cancel their admission can do so through the online process at the college level from:
September 12 to September 18, 2026, up to 5:00 PM.
However, candidates should carefully read the applicable consequences before opting for resignation.
The notice states that candidates resigning within the prescribed Round 2 period will be liable to pay the specified penalty and will not be eligible for subsequent rounds, as per the conditions mentioned in the counselling notice.
Penalty for Resignation
As specified in the notice:
- Non-NRI candidates: ₹2 lakh
- NRI candidates: ₹10 lakh
Candidates considering resignation should therefore carefully review the applicable rules and financial implications before cancelling their admission.
Candidates Should Note the Upgradation Rules
Candidates who were admitted in Round 1 and want to participate in Round 2 must follow the prescribed upgradation and choice-filling requirements.
The notice also clarifies that candidates who were admitted in Round 1 and do not opt for upgradation will continue with their Round 1 admission.
Candidates should therefore make their upgradation decision carefully before the prescribed deadline.
